Probable open letter to Mr. Joseph A. Mussomeli

Dear All at U.S. Embassy in Slovenia,
Dear U.S. Ambassador to Slovenia, Mr. Joseph A. Mussomeli

I would like to thank you as a citizen of Slovenia for you effort to sincerely express your opinion and share voice of reason. I as a Slovenian find none of your comments offensive – to the contrary, I find them respectful for they show insightful awareness of the situation and great concern for our small nation.

It is not common for Slovenian to express opinion like this, but I decided to do it anyway and to let you know that not all of us in Slovenia blow into the same horn and that we too share different opinions.

I would dare to say, had the results of Slovenian elections been a little bit different, your comments about necessity for overcoming differences would be proclaimed as words of wisdom or at least would they not get that much of an attention. But this is just my opinion, and it goes too much into the problem you are trying to see and explain as objectively as possible.

I agree with your thought that if we were more confident we would not pay that much of an attention or be upset over your words.
I wish you great stay here in Slovenia and hope to enjoy it, even in situations like this.

Best Regards,
Primož Likar
